Shake Up Your Workout Routine With Power Plate!!
Fluid Fitness recently brought a Power Plate machine. The Power Plate is big in Europe and my friends were raving about it. I thought to myself "How great can this vibration machine really be?" So i did some research and tried it out. I was amazed by how much the machine made me/my muscles work, even just standing on the machine was a workout, and it was fun too! After a 30 minute workout i felt like i had just done an hour at the gym, and i felt energized! The vibration contracts your muscles, so with a combination of this and working out, you are doing twice the workout in half the time! As well as strength and muscle tone the machine is great for flexibility, core strenghth and stability, balance, co-ordination, blood circulation and bone density. I also love the 'massage' setting which is very popular at the end of a workout! I fell in love with the machine straight away and decided i wanted to get myself certified, so i did just that. I am now a personal trainer at Fluid Fitness on the Power Plate machine and have a growing client base, so come give it a try!!! As an introductory offer you can try a workout session for $20. Also, check out my latest Power Plate video by clicking the link below -

Spin, spiral and twist!
Spin, spiral and twist away as you ease yourself into the day with a healthy dose of GYROKINESIS®.
GYROKINESIS® exercises allow one to work on the entire body through the natural elements of spinal movement: forward, backward, side to side, side-twisting and circular.
This approach systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating movements. These movements stimulate the body's internal organs. Different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated along with the exercises.
Fluidity is the key. Positions are not held, rather they are smoothly and harmoniously connected through the use of breath. The exercises appear and feel more like dance than like traditional yoga.
Tuesdays with Alexandra Berger at 8:00 am to 9:00 am.
Cost: $20.00

Is RICE part of your fitness routine?
If you are physically active chances are pretty high that you have had an injury of sorts. While we hate to be sidelined or have interruptions in our routine when we're on a roll or have goals to meet, we often underestimate the real amount of time and care our bodies need for adequate repair. Even if the pain subsides and other signs of injury aren't present, continuing on with your routine without consideration could come back and bite you down the road.
A recent New York Times article on anke health gives an overview of the steps you should take when an injury occurs and why swift action is important. Included is an indispensible recipe for RICE. Follow the instructions and you'll be feeling better in no time!
